This course is designed to provide service & diagnostic technicians with advanced training on Oscilloscope Diagnostic’s including systems testing, and is ideally suited to peoples who have already attended our Step 2 training course or for technicians who have had a PicoScope for some time, use it often but want to get more out of using PicoScope.

The course will give the attendee both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in using an Oscilloscope, including advanced usage techniques and systems testing, the course covers working on both Petrol and Diesel engines

Course content:

  • Manual set up for capturing signals
  • Advanced measuring and Maths Channels
  • Practical demonstrations and tests
    capturing multiple signals
  • Understanding the relationships
    between different components
  • Mastertech hints and tips
  • Parasitic Drain Measurements over an extended period

Prerequisites:
We recommend that delegates are familiar with general scope usage and/or have attended our Step 2 training course

Delegates should bring with them their own laptop with PicoScope software installed along with their PicoScope diagnostic kit if you have on, but not essential.

Attainment:
On successful completion of our Step 3 course delegates will be able to:

  • Know when to use an Oscilloscope to speed up the diagnostic process and ensure a good fix
  • Make connections to multiple vehicle components using a variety of accessories
  • Capture vehicle data on individual components and start to analyse these waveforms
  • Gain an understanding of key vehicle systems and their relationships with each other
  • Delegates will all receive a PicoScope 54 page Step 3 workbook including a detailed reference guide to advanced scope diagnostics.
